Larina’s Story…
Some of my most vivid memories and rewarding moments are times when I acted in spite of anxiety…
When I completed my first job interview (at the age of 15 for a position at Wegmans, a fabulous grocery store that began in my hometown of Rochester NY) and learned that I got the job…
When I was a college sophomore and the professor asked me to be a teaching assistant for Oral Communications, a course I had dreaded but got through without any major meltdowns (though a few sleepless nights!).
When I got up the courage to introduce myself to my now-husband at a party.
When I did a job-talk before the faculty of The Center and Treatment and Study of Anxiety at The University of Pennsylvania (imagine the anxiety of presenting on anxiety to some of the most famous experts on anxiety in the world!).
When I surprised myself with having two natural childbirths without pain medication, something I hadn’t really planned on or thought I could do but figured I’d try and see what would happen…
When I appeared as a communications coach on a national TV show.
Aren’t these types of experiences powerful? These defining moments– when we move out of our comfort zones–are when we experience intense satisfaction and achievement. These moments build courage and confidence. They create our greatest successes.
My goal is to help my clients and readers to experience more moments like these and accomplish everything that is important to them.
